Family Food Fortune
I would like to express how important family and friends are and how important it is to always stay in touch and let those important people know you care. I have had two very close people to me pass away in the past week and although you can not prepare yourself for this, the feelings are worse when you know you haven’t done all you can to make sure those people have been a big part of your life. There’s no time like the present, so make the most of every waking moment.
Victor Churchill Fine Family Butchers
Recently I was invited to attend the opening of Victor Churchill Fine Family Butchers in Woollahra NSW. It is an incredible store that has had a lot of time and effort put into the fit out. A selection of meats, small goods and outstanding customer service, this store is an inspiration for any business owner. Bringing me back to my French heritage was seeing the Billot de Bois (large round preparation wood boards/logs) in use by the experienced butchers. We were treated to canapés by Shannon Bennett of the renowned Melbourne restaurant, Vue De Monde. A highlight for me was a jamon consommé topped with thin slices of jamon from Iberico. SUPERB!
Being a member of The Entrepreneurs Organization (EO) I have been fortunate enough to listen to many motivational speakers. Recently I had the pleasure of listening to Jordan Belfort and what an incredible life he has led, being only 47, he has achieved more than most would in one lifetime.
At 22, Jordan was the CEO of brokerage firm Stratton Oakmont, earning over 50M a year. Jordan was 26 years old when he served 22 months in federal prison for a "Pump and Dump" scheme. As part of the scheme, falsely purportedly profitable stocks were sold to investors at inflated prices. He is now an author of the book The Wolf of Wall Street (which is currently being turned into a major motion picture by Warner Brothers, with Leonardo Dicaprio set to play Belfort and Martin Scorsese set to direct) and Catching the Wolf of Wall Street.
