Culinary Memories

After a recent sales trip to Perth I received an amazing gift from our distributors, Jamie and Freddie Kronberg ... a book titled “1001 Foods You Must Try Before You Die”. It got me thinking about how fortunate I have been in life so far to have experienced such a diverse range of cuisines from different cultures. It has also made me think about how much more I want to experience ... watching the sushi masters at work in Japan, visiting the spice markets in India, dining at El Bulli in Spain, walking with my daughter in the hills of Switzerland and picking wild mushrooms for a morning omelette ... and the list goes on. This very special book made me realise that so many of my memories are built on a particular culinary experience.

Delicious

In March 2009 our friends at Delicious magazine hosted two wonderful events at Domayne in Alexandria and Bundall, Gold Coast as part of a Brunch series. Service is Essential

I am writing this from Melbourne airport as I wait for my flight home after 3 days of visiting our distributors and retailers. I always look forward to going home and would not live in any other city in the world however I am always so impressed with the standard of service and quality of food in the restaurant and hotel industry that Melbourne has to offer. This trip I enjoyed an incredible meal at Da Noi, a little Sardinian restaurant in South Yarra and some brilliant service at George Calombaris’s famous Press Club. I love good service... it makes or breaks an experience for me which is why I am constantly at my
own staff about it.

The Bitton Café and Grocer has just been featured on Channel 9's popular Fresh TV show as part of a series on French cuisine.
