The Bitton Gourmet cafe and grocer has firmly established itself as a local icon, serving five star food at café prices right in the heart of Alexandria.

The menu includes an all day breakfast and lunch, with choices including Polenta Porridge with Homemade Rhubarb Compote, Poached Eggs with Black Forest Ham, Spinach, Potato Roesti and Hollandaise Sauce, and the famous Bitton Moroccan Spiced Chicken Sandwich.

The cafe is open for dinner on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Friday evenings until 9pm.  Whether its for an intimate dinner for two or an early family meal, Bitton offers an elegant  seasonal menu for daily specials.

The cafe is also very child friendly and offers and children’s menu. In the back section of the cafe is a children’s play are full of toys and blackboards with chalk for kids to play with for hours, while parents can keep a safe eye and still enjoy a coffee.

The outside area both at the front and back of the cafe is covered and heated, so it is still possible to sit outside on chilly days.

The friendly atmosphere and tantalising seasonal menus capture locals and passersby sometimes for hours at a time.
